What is vinyl plank flooring?

Vinyl wood flooring is similar to laminate wood flooring, in that it is composed of layers. The top layer is a wood pattern. The layer under that is vinyl. Much like other vinyl flooring it provides the benefit of easy care and the ability to withstand water.

While it is an optimal choice for basements, kitchens, and bathroom flooring, it is also an attractive flooring for the living area of the home.

Today’s lifestyle is very busy and in a home with children and pets keeping up and protecting a real wood floor can cut into a homeowner’s leisure time. Not to mention the expense of a costly wood floor.

An Easy Install-DIY Project

Resilient vinyl plank flooring is an easy install for the do-it-yoursef homeowner, which will save a lot of dollars to be used elsewhere.

These flexible planks are provided in lengths up to 48″. No special tools needed. Each plank locks into prior one with an adhesive edge which bonds the pieces together. This is one similarity to laminate flooring, in that it floats. It is however, much easier to lay than laminate. I know, because I have installed both myself. And it locks tight and stays.

For a vinyl floor covering that looks like wood, select resilient plank flooring with deep texture, so that you can actually feel variations in the plank. There are various wood tones to choose from
.

Vinyl plank flooring is quiet, warm, easy on the feet, and easy to clean.
